Your choices

Your privacy choices

Two ways to control how your information is used here. Neither one limits what you can read.

1. Opt out of targeted advertising and analytics

Advertising and analytics cookies on this site are switched off until you allow them. If you allowed them earlier and want to withdraw that, use the control below — it reopens the consent panel and lets you reject everything except the cookies needed to run the site.

Your choice is stored in a single first-party cookie called bc_consent for six months. Clearing your browser data removes it, and you will be asked again on your next visit.

You can also opt out of ad personalisation directly with Google at adssettings.google.com, and use your browser's Global Privacy Control setting where it is supported — we honour a GPC signal as an opt-out request.

2. Do we sell or share personal information?

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own independent marketing. However, using cookies to serve personalised advertising may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, or as “targeted advertising”, under the privacy laws of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states. Rejecting advertising cookies on this site opts you out of that.

3. Your rights over your information

Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used
  • Provide a copy of it in a portable form
  • Correct anything inaccurate
  • Delete it
  • Stop using it for targeted advertising or profiling

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. You may also authorise an agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of their authority and of your identity before acting.

4. How to make a request

Email contact@getbrightnesscontrol.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line, or write to Matthew E. Fitzpatrick at 16802 Bowen Ct, Williamsport, MD 21795, United States. Tell us which right you are exercising and which state you live in. We confirm receipt within 10 days and respond within 45 days, extending once by a further 45 days where a request is complex, in which case we will tell you before the first period runs out.

If we refuse a request you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our decision. Full detail on what we collect and why is in the privacy policy.
